Channar Project

Channar Project World Record Design - World's lowest rolling resistance power per ton per mile with a DIN f = 0.0085 (CEMA minimum f = 0.016 + idler losses). Responsible for feasibility, design audit, mechanical design, chute design, control of starting and stopping, dynamic simulation of conveyor behavior; development of primary specifications on mechanical components. Continued involvement through commissioning in fourth quarter 1989. Engineering was carried out in Australia with Hamersley's engineering division, Minenco Ltd.
