Muja & Collie - Overland Conveyors

Barclay Mowlem Construction (BMC) hired Conveyor Dynamics to complete the static and dynamic analysis of three overland conveyors for Western Power. The Muja P2 overland transports coal from the Ewington II mine to the Muja Power Station. The Collie overlands C1 and C3 transport coal from the same mine to the Collie Power Station.

In addition to selecting the mechanical components, BMC hired CDI to complete a field validation during commissioning. CDI recorded side travel in the curves, motor torque, take-up motion, and belt speed. The measurement proved CDI's power consumption predictions were 95% accurate demonstrating the utility of low rolling resistant rubber compounds.
