MATERIAL CHARACTERIZATION

INSTRON TENSILE TESTING

CDI measures the tensile strength, and modulus of materials sent by our customers with our modified Instron 4468 universal testing machine. The machine is primarily used to test conveyor cord adhesion in splices, determine the modulus of conveyor belts, check conveyor belt cover adhesion. Our R&D engineering team regularly uses this machine to characterize unusual materials used in products we are developing for our OEM partners.

INSTRON Model 4468 Specifications:
  • Capacity: 50 kN (11,250 lbs)
  • Testing Stroke: 1345mm (53 inches)
  • Sample Width: upto 555mm (22 inches)
Available Test Standards
  • ASTM D412 / ISO 37-- Rubber tensile strength
  • ASTM D413 / ISO8094-- Rubber adhesion
  • ASTM D624-- Rubber tear strength
  • ISO 252 -- Conveyor belts — Adhesion between constitutive elements
  • ISO 7623 / AS 1333-- Cord to coating bond test
  • ISO 9856-- Determination of Elastic and Permanent Elongation and modulus
