ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY CONVEYING

PIPE CONVEYOR DESIGN

Pipe conveyors belts are a popular alternative to trough conveying when horizontal curves are very tight, dust emissions are unacceptable, or the inclination angle is steeper than trough belts will allow.

Conveyor Dynamic Inc. (CDI) has developed unique Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models of pipe conveyors that allow us to accurately predict the power consumption more accurately than any other company in the world. We use this model to resolve the most common problems with pipe conveyors: excessive pipe rotation and pipe collapse. We also use it to design need pipe conveyor systems and to provide our clients with belt specifications to ensure that the belt they purchase will perform acceptably. Many of the largest belt manufacturers in the world have hired CDI to assist them with pipe conveyor product development including patented pipe carcass constructions.

CDI Delivers Value By

  • FEA simulation of the actual belt supplied to accurately predict its twist, friction, stability, overlap position, and power consumption for the specific conveyor in question.
  • Partnering with local EPC and Manufactures and transfering the techology needed to deliver a world class product at local prices.
  • Utilizing our static and dynamic (BELTSTAT and BELTFLEX) software codes to optimize conveyor control systems and select/design components that do not generate damaging shockwaves.
  • Fully FAT tested PLC code completed before our engineers arrive on site to commission the logic. This reduces the time needed to commission a green field system from one month to 4 days.
  • Reduced required safety factor through extensive testing of belt splices, belt rubber, brakes, idlers, fluid couplings, VFDs avoiding nasty surprises.
  • Low power consumption design using Low Rolling Resistance (LRR) belts to reduce CAPEX and OPEX by up to 40%.
  • Calibrated DEM Optimized Chute Design to reduce chute blockages, minimize belt damage, and control dust generation.
